Up until now there has never been a solid solution to mount a fish finder onto the dash board of a 2012 to 2018 FX Waverunner. No matter how you mount the fish finder onto the dash board, even if you use backing plates underneath the plastic, it just simply isn't strong enough to support the unit through ocean chop and it will eventually fatigue and crack the plastic which I noticed multiple times recently when upgrading sounders on these skis so I came up with this solution, that bypasses the weak dashboard and bolts directly to the hull of the Waverunner giving you a nice strong mounting plate off to the side of the dash so that your warning lights and trim indicator are still viewable, and was even strong enough to mount 2x fixed rod holders onto, one angled for trolling and one vertical for rod storage.
Suitable for mounting small and large sounders up to 9" models, and very likely strong enough for a 12" model too.
Made from solid aluminium, TIG welded for strong construction and powdercoated for a long lasting good looking finish.
Installation requires cutting out the plastic cup holder and drilling 3 mounting holes into the hull below the dash board, accessed by removing the side panel.
