Carrying extra fuel on a PWC has always presented a number of problems, whether it be storage or safety issues.
Strapping extra fuel cans onto the rear of a ski is one of the worst places to put extra weight in regards to balance of the ski, specially when many fisherman already have a lot of weight in this area with a fishing kit, and carrying a fuel can inside the front storage compartment can be extremely unsafe if it is not securely tied down.
Another problem that presents itself when using fuel cans is the need to refuel while on the water, if using fuel cans you run the risk of spilling fuel or getting water inside your fuel tank.
The GC Jetski Fishing auxiliary fuel tank is made from 3mm aluminium to be strong and lightweight. The tank sits forward of the factory fuel tank, central and below the hulls waterline (when at rest) and as low as possible to eliminate any problems with balance from having extra weight on the ski.
The tank is secured in the hull via 3 existing anchor points, for a sturdy, easy installation
The auxiliary tank is plumbed into the factory 2" filler neck hose, so when refueling your ski the auxiliary tank will fill at the same time as the main tank via the existing fuel cap, no need for fuel cap relocation, or filling 2 separate tanks.
As the engine is run, fuel will be transferred from the auxiliary tank into the main tank via vacuum, effectively transferring all the extra fuel (and extra weight) into the main tank as soon as it can, keeping the balance of your ski as good as it could be, and eliminating any need for refueling while on the water.
To ensure safety in the event of rolling your pwc, the tank is fitted with a safety rollover valve that will stop fuel escaping via the tank vent tube whilst upside down.
The beauty of the new Waverunner digital dash is the fuel burn computer which is incredibly accurate, reset this when you fill up at the pump and you will know exactly how much of your new 90L (23.8g) fuel capacity you have used during your trip. After installing the tank and refuelling for the first time, remember to reset the fuel burn computer to 0.
After installing the fuel tank, the factory plastic wall separating the front storage from the engine compartment can be trimmed and reinstalled to give a tidy, factory-like installation, and with the tank being finished in a durable satin black powder coat finish, you will barely even know it is there.
